SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov gave an exclusive interview to Xalq so'zi and Uzbekistan National News Agency in Beijing.
The correspondents were particularly interested in the strained relations between two new member states, India and Pakistan, and their impact on the organisation's activity.
"In light of the recently heightened tensions between the Republic of India and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, we hope that the parties will exercise restraint and act reasonably," Vladimir Norov said.
His opinion is that it is important for the two countries to observe the principles, goals and objectives of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation, binding documents and applicable international agreements.
Full transcript of the conversation about the new Secretary-General's first seven months in office and the Uzbekistani President's initiatives related to the SCO will be published by the above media agencies.
