On 23 April 2019, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov met with Adviser to the Russian President, Secretary of the Organising Committee on Preparations for Russia's Chairmanship in the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation in 2019-2000 and BRICS in 2020 Anton Kobyakov as part of his visit to Moscow to attend the 8th Moscow Conference on International Security.
During the meeting, the officials discussed issues related to Russia's upcoming chairmanship in the SCO, preparations for the SCO Heads of State Council meeting in Chelyabinsk in 2020 and participation of the SCO Secretariat in large international events held in Russia, such as the St Petersburg International Economic Forum and the Eastern Economic Forum.
Mr Norov thanked Russia for the constant and high-quality support of the Secretariat in fulfilling its task and provided detailed information on the SCO's activities, preparations for the summit in Bishkek in June 2019 and plans for the near future.
Mr Kobyakov spoke in detail about the current system and algorithm used to prepare large international multilateral events in Russia and stressed that Russia was ready to share its rich experience with all the SCO member countries.
The meeting was held in a businesslike and friendly atmosphere.
