SCO Ambassadors Club delegation meets with Jinan Communist Party Committee Secretary Wang Zhonglin

On 3 April 2019, a delegation of the SCO Ambassadors Club visited the Shandong Province and met with Mr Wang Zhonglin, Secretary of the Jinan City Party Committee of the Communist Party of China.

Wang Zhonglin welcomed SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov and high ranking diplomats of the SCO member states in Jinan. The city consistently implements important decisions of the Chinese leadership, as regards the realisation of new IT projects, he pointed out.

Wang Zhonglin noted that Jinan was involved in many projects of the Belt and Road Initiative. He expressed confidence that the visit by high ranking diplomats of the SCO member countries provided extra opportunities for enhancing cooperation between Jinan business circles and the SCO member states. "We are ready to expand cooperation channels still further in line with the principle of mutual benefits and cooperation," Wang Zhonglin said.

SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov noted the city's IT successes and the efficient introduction of innovative technologies. He underscored the importance of streamlining cooperation between the SCO member states in this field. According to Norov, presentations of SCO member states' trade and investment projects will be a useful venue for expanding cooperation between business circles as well as government and public agencies of the SCO Family.

Vladimir Norov noted that cooperation between the SCO countries in the sphere of trade, investment, transport and logistics could make a substantial contribution to sustained development. The SCO Secretary- General expressed hope that practical cooperation in this field would be invigorated after the approval of several specialised documents that are currently being drafted.

Ambassador Xiao Qinghua from the Chinese Foreign Ministry's Department of European-Central Asian Affairs, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the People's Republic of China Vikram Misri, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the People's Republic of China Kanayim Baktygulova, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to the People's Republic of China Masood Khalid, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the People's Republic of China Andrei Denisov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the People's Republic of China Parviz Davlatzoda and Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the People's Republic of China Yerik Ashimov took part in the event.
