On 2 April 2019, Weihai hosted a presentation on SCO member states' trade, economic, and cultural cooperation projects with the city during a visiting meeting of the SCO Ambassadors Club.
Weihai Deputy Mayor Gao Shuliang, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov, members of the SCO Ambassadors Club, top managers of several departmental agencies and representatives of over ten major companies, tourist organisations and education institutions took part in the event.
A delegation of diplomats from SCO member states headed by SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov was on a three-day visit to Shandong Province. The visit's programme included tours of various major manufacturing companies and education institutions. Additionally, the cities of Weihai and Jinan hosted presentations on investment projects involving SCO member states and Shandong Province companies.
After the presentations, diplomats and representatives of Shandong Province's commerce, culture and tourism directorates, as well as representatives of major companies, including Haier, WEGO Group, and Shandong Hi-Speed Group, took part in discussions.
The SCO Ambassadors Club is an informal discussion platform seeking to identify new avenues, forms and methods for the diverse cooperation within the SCO framework.
