On 21 January 2019, Secretary-General Vladimir Norov held a meeting with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal to China Leela Mani Paudyal at the SCO Headquarters.
The Nepalese diplomat congratulated Vladimir Norov on assuming the office of the SCO Secretary-General and wished him success in his post.
The ambassador praised cooperation within the SCO based on the principles of the Shanghai Spirit. He emphasised that Nepal, as a dialogue partner, was interested in expanding its activities and developing cooperation within the SCO.
Mr Norov welcomed Nepal's interest in stepping up cooperation and noted that a further strengthening of ties in various areas would bring the SCO and Nepal closer together and increase mutual understanding.
During the conversation, the officials also discussed issues of mutual interest.
The meeting was held in a friendly and warm atmosphere.
