SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov meets with Gu Xueming, President of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation

On 15 January 2019, SCO Secretary-General Vladimir Norov held a meeting at SCO headquarters with Gu Xueming, President of the Chinese Academy of International Trade and Economic Cooperation (CAITEC), Ministry of Commerce.

During the meeting, the officials discussed ways to step up analytical activities related to trade and the economy within the SCO.

The SCO Secretary-General noted how important it was to organise thematic forums with leading analytic institutions of the SCO member states, carry out joint research and develop corresponding practical recommendations.

Mr Gu Xueming remarked the significant joint potential of the SCO member countries' research institutes and agreed on the importance of developing the analytical element in key areas of the SCO activities.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
