The first working day of the SCO Youth Assembly in Dongfang concluded with an evening reception held by communist party committee secretary of the city administration Tie Gang to honour the participants and guests of the Assembly.
The concert programme featuring virtuosos of the Hainan Province and the Kyrgyz Republic was the main event of the evening, underscoring the SCO's commitment to dialogue and mutual cultural enrichment.
The programme included bold dance and musical performances blending traditional folk and modern art elements.
The audience was delighted by the performances of Kyrgyzstani actors in A Night at the Museum and Shaman, which showcased the brilliance of modern Kyrgyzstani art and emphasised the breadth of the cultural component of Kyrgyzstan's SCO chairmanship.
There were also dazzling performances by Chinese masters reflecting the traditions of peoples living on Hainan Island. The remarkable acrobatic act entitled Force was greeted with thunderous applause from participants and guests of the Assembly.
At the end of the programme, the hall was filled with the full spectrum of colourful traditional dresses of the Li people, the indigenous ethnic group of Hainan Island.
The SCO Youth Assembly, which opened in the Chinese city of Dongfang on Hainan Island, is being attended by over 300 young people from the SCO family countries.
