On 1 November 2018 in Tashkent, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Olim Narzullaev, Director of the National Information and Analytical Centre on Drug Control under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan (NIACDC).
The Secretary-General spoke highly of the SCO Anti-Drug Strategy for 2018-2023 adopted at the Qingdao Summit.
"This document is a roadmap for cooperation within the Organisation that determines its vectors, methods and principles," Rashid Alimov noted and expressed his appreciation to Uzbekistan for its contribution to the development of the strategy.
The participants discussed preparations for the meeting of the Paris Pact Initiative at the SCO Secretariat, which will focus on trans-border cooperation and prospects of cooperation between the SCO and the UN Office on Drugs and Crime.
Olim Narzullaev assured the Secretary-General that the parties' efforts to promote cooperation against drug trafficking both within the SCO and internationally have full support of the NIACDC.
The meeting was held in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
