On 31 October 2018, SCO Secretary General Rashid Alimov met with the new Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA), Habibullo Mirzozoda, on the sidelines of the Sixth International Conference of the SCO Regional Anti-Terrorist Structure (RATS) in Tashkent.
The SCO Secretary General congratulated Mr Mirzozoda on taking over as the Executive Director of CICA after his nomination was unanimously supported by all 27 of the organisation's member countries.
The officials exchanged views on the state and prospects of interaction between the executive bodies of the two organisations.
The meeting took place in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
On 20 May 2014 in Shanghai, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
