During his working visit to Shanghai, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with senior executives of Shanghai University of Political Science and Law.
On 18 September 2018, Mr Alimov visited Shanghai University of Political Science and Law and had a conversation with its Rector Professor Liu Xiaohung and heads of the university's faculties.
The meeting participants focused on expanded cooperation between the SCO Secretariat and the university, as well as the SCO Countries' Legal Training and Cooperation Centre, established on the initiative of President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping.
The discussion also focused on joint projects as regards cultural and humanitarian cooperation, personnel training and youth exchanges.
Mr Alimov toured the university campus and visited the SCO Centre, which provides broad educational opportunities for representatives of SCO member states.
President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping suggested establishing this Centre at Shanghai University of Political Science and Law. The Centre mostly trains lawyers for SCO member-states.
Shanghai University of Political Science and Law consistently expands cooperation at the Centre and involves renowned experts, analysts and specialists from China and SCO member states in the Centre's work.
