Between 14 and 17 September 2018, the SCO Council of National Coordinators held a meeting in Beijing under the chairmanship of the Kyrgyz members.
National coordinators focused on all aspects of preparing for the 17th SCO Heads of Government Council Meeting taking place in Dushanbe between 11 and 12 October 2018.
The coordinators completed the meeting agenda with a total of 25 matters relating to the preparation for the upcoming meetings of foreign economic, foreign trade and agriculture ministers to be held the day before the SCO HGC Meeting, as well as the results of expert-level meetings that either had already taken place or were to take place during the coming month.
The coordinators also shared opinions on implementing the initiatives proposed by the Heads of States during the SCO Qingdao summit, discussed the event schedule for the second half of 2018 and the practical aspects of cooperation within the framework of the SCO.
The participants also discussed the SCO Key Action Plan and the 2019 Programme for Cooperation between SCO Foreign Ministers in detail, plus outlined the specific joint steps to implement these plans and decisions.
They also reviewed matters concerning SCO's cooperation with observer states, SCO dialogue partners and international and regional organisations.
The SCO CNC coordinates SCO's current activities and ensures cooperation between relevant ministries and agencies of the SCO member states.
The Kyrgyz Republic took up SCO rotating presidency in June 2018.
