On 5 September 2018, a meeting with journalists and representatives of ministries and agencies responsible for mass media operations in the SCO member states was held at the Organisation's Headquarters.
Deputy Secretary-General of the SCO Aizada Subakozhoyeva went into details about the Organisation's current state of affairs, development prospects and main results of the Qingdao Summit. She also provided the journalists with comprehensive data concerning the information support of the SCO activities.
During the meeting, the participants received answers to all their questions and expressed their interest in working together to popularise the SCO's goals and objectives, as well as its Development Strategy Towards 2025. Representatives from Kyrgyzstan and Belarus suggested the establishment of the SCO's own mass media, namely, a television channel, radio and electronic publications in SCO member states.
At the close of the meeting, a short tour of the SCO Headquarters was held.
The meeting was attended by representatives of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Belarus.
The meeting was held as part of the seminar for the SCO member states' media representatives organised by the educational centre of the China Foreign Languages Publication and Distribution Administration.
