On 4 September 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov received Qatari Ambassador to China Sultan bin Saeed al-Mansouri in the SCO Headquarters in Beijing.
At the request of the Qatari ambassador, the Secretary-General spoke about the results of the SCO Qingdao Summit, which was held between 9-10 June 2018, as well as the Organisation's long-term activities and key spheres of multilateral, multifaceted cooperation within the framework of the SCO.
The ambassador commended the results of the Qingdao Summit and the SCO's activities on the international arena, noting that "Qatar supports the principles of cooperation established within the framework of the SCO, as well as its constructive and rich agenda aimed at creating a fair and equitable world order and ensuring regional security and sustainable development."
The parties also exchanged views on a number of matters concerning mutual interest.
The meeting was held in a friendly and warm manner.
