SCO-TASS: Time-tested cooperation

On July 6, 2018 correspondents of the TASS Beijing office visited the SCO Headquarters in Beijing at the invitation of SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov. The delegation was led by Head of the TASS Office in China and Chairman of the SCO Press Club Andrei Kirillov.

Mr Alimov thanked the participants in the meeting for their work in the past few years, in particular the coverage of preparations for the SCO summit in Qingdao and the summit itself, and noted the special character of SCO-TASS cooperation. "We appreciate what TASS has to say about the SCO. It always accurately and substantively reports on the multifaceted activities of our organisation, and keeps a wide audience up to date on our ideals, goals and principles of our work. We highly value our cooperation with TASS because it objectively presents our organisation to the world," Mr Alimov said.

Head of the TASS Beijing Office Kirillov noted that "the SCO has occupied a firm place in the coverage of TASS owing to its intensive agenda and diverse events that attract the attention of the public at large," adding: "We value our relations and hope they will continue to develop."
