On 16 June 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov visited Taihe Institute and attended a seminar on promoting intra-SCO cultural and humanitarian cooperation. The participants exchanged opinions on the results of the SCO Qingdao Summit as well as SCO development prospects.
Wu Hailong, Chairman of the China Public Diplomacy Society, shared his perception of the SCO's future and suggested actively enhancing public diplomacy in the SCO region.
Founded in 2013, Taihe Institute is a new generation non-governmental think tank prioritising openness, innovations and international cooperation. The Institute aims to bring together leading analysts from all over the world, to search for common values and to facilitate cooperation between China and other countries, perceiving this as its main task.
The Institute employs over 100 experienced experts-researchers from all over the world who maintain close academic ties and partner relations with prestigious international research institutes, including the China Institute of Contemporary International Relations, the China Education Association for International Exchange, UNESCO, the Brookings Institution, the Eisenhower Foundation, and others.
