On 12 June 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Vasily Nebenzya, Permanent Representative of Russia to the United Nations and President of the UN Security Council.
Rashid Alimov warmly congratulated Vasily Nebenzya and other employees of Russia's Permanent Mission to the United Nations on Russia Day, wished them good health and new achievements, and extended wishes of progress and prosperity to all the people of Russia.
Mr Alimov informed the President of the UN Security Council on the main results of the SCO Summit in Qingdao (9-10 June 2018) and presented the main provisions of the SCO Heads of State's Qingdao Declaration as well as the agreements reached and decisions made by the leaders.
During the conversation, the officials discussed topical issues of global politics, as well as the entire range of matters concerning the development of cooperation between the SCO and the UN as well as the UN's specialised institutions.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The SCO Secretary-General is on a working visit to New York City to take part in UN events as well as a high-level interactive dialogue between the UN Secretary-General and heads of regional and international organisations.
