On 9 June 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Gong Jianwei, Executive Director of the Secretariat of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA), on the sidelines of the SCO Summit held on 9-10 June in Qingdao, Shandong Province.
The SCO Secretary-General thanked the CICA Secretariat Executive Director for his participation in the SCO Summit events and noted the closeness of the two organisations' goals and ideals.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the current situation and prospects of cooperation as well as the current issues on the regional agenda.
The sides noted successful joint events, in particular, the SCO and CICA Astana International Marathon held in August 2017.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
