SCO Secretary General Rashid Alimov had a meeting with UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) Executive Secretary Shamshad Akhtar on the sidelines of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Mr Alimov and Ms Akhtar discussed the state of SCO-UNESCAP cooperation and its prospects, as well as efforts to step up economic cooperation and transport connectivity in Eurasia.
Mr Alimov thanked Ms Akhtar for the long-term close and fruitful cooperation and wished her every success.
SCO and UNESCAP have been partner organisations since 2005 under a Memorandum of Cooperation.
