On 18 April 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov received Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar Ahmad Hassan Al-Hamadi at the SCO Headquarters in Beijing.
Mr Alimov informed his guest about the SCO's activities and the key areas of versatile, multi-level cooperation within the SCO framework.
Ahmad Hassan Al-Hamadi noted the SCO's growing role and importance in international affairs, stressing that "Qatar fully shares the SCO cooperation principles as well as the SCO's aims and goals in international interaction."
"The SCO is the world's biggest regional organisation of a new type. SCO cooperation is based on mutual trust, mutual benefit, equality, mutual consultations, respect for the diversity of cultures, and a striving for joint development. We see increasingly more states share and accept these principles with each passing day, including by displaying an interest in establishing and promoting interaction with the SCO," Rashid Alimov stressed.
The parties also exchanged views on a number of issues pertaining to international cooperation.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
