On 16 April 2018, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Akram Zeynalli, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to China at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
During the meeting, the officials discussed the current situation and prospects for cooperation between the SCO and the Republic of Azerbaijan, in terms of Azerbaijan's role as a dialogue partner of the organisation.
The ambassador thanked the Secretary-General for the SCO Observer Mission's extensive work before and during the early presidential election in Azerbaijan. Akram Zeynalli noted the SCO's professional and responsible approach as an international observer.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
