On 12-13 April 2018, foreign ministries held consultations at the SCO headquarters in Beijing, chaired by China and dedicated to their information departments' cooperation in covering SCO activities, in particular, the upcoming SCO summit in Qingdao, China.
During the consultations, the participants had a detailed exchange of opinions on further strengthening cooperation between the information departments of the SCO member states' foreign ministries in providing information support for the Organisation's activities.
The SCO Secretariat presented a report on information support and proposals to increase the effectiveness in the area and to further promote the SCO image in the global information space.
Practical steps to cooperate and coordinate joint work on the eve of and during the SCO Summit in Qingdao as well as short-term plans were also discussed during the consultations.
The consultations of the SCO foreign ministries' information departments were held under the 2018 programme of cooperation between the foreign ministries of the SCO member states.
