SCO Observer Mission is monitoring the presidential election in Azerbaijan

The Observer Mission of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) is monitoring the presidential election in Azerbaijan, which began at 8 am on 11 April 2018.

SCO observers are working in Baku, Sumqayit, Absheron, Ganja and Mingachevir.

Voters flocked to the polling stations early in the morning. SCO Secretary-General has visited several election stations in Baku, Sumqayit and Absheron, where he talked with the chairpersons of district and local election commissions, observers from political parties and voters.

When the election stations close, the SCO Mission will sum up the results of its operations as part of preparations for an official statement regarding the election.

A news conference has been scheduled for 9 am 12 April 2018.
