On 3 and 4 April, the fourth meeting of the SCO Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation was held at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing under Kazakhstan's Presidency.
Experts exchanged opinions on a draft trade facilitation agreement and a framework agreement on cooperation in the trade in services to be signed between the governments of the SCO member states. They also shared information on the SCO exhibitions, forums and fairs planned for 2018, including joint events and presentations to be held at various international economic platforms, as well as the possibility of attracting representatives from the SCO Business Council to the work of the Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation.
The meeting participants also attended presentations devoted to trade liberalisation reforms in Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan's new Tax Code.
The Special Working Group on Trade Facilitation was established in December 2015 under the Council of External Trade and Economy Ministers of the SCO Member States to implement the Programme of Multilateral Trade and Economic Cooperation between the SCO Member States.
