SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov has sent his congratulations to President Vladimir Putin on his re-election as the Russian president.
The message reads, in part:
"Please accept my most sincere congratulations on your solid victory in the Russian presidential election. Your outstanding result in the election indicates great respect, trust and massive support of your thought-out and balanced policy by the people of Russia.
"The world highly values Russia's determined and consistent actions aimed at building a multi-polar world and ensuring common and undivided security with mutual consideration for each other's interests. This has gained Russia the highest international authority.
"It is hard to overestimate Russia's fundamental achievements in initiating, establishing and developing the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation. You were one of the founding members of the SCO which, thanks to joint efforts, has become a highly respected new sort of international trans-regional structure and plays an increasingly remarkable role in global and regional affairs. Your constant and engaged attention to the SCO activities has an exceptional significance to increasing and strengthening its international authority as well as influence."
Rashid Alimov wished Vladimir Putin every success in fulfilling his constructive intents as the Russian president and wished him good health and happiness. He also said that he hoped that all citizens of great Russia would be happy and prosperous.
