SCO Secretary-General congratulates Wang Yi on his appointment as State Councilor and Foreign Minister of China

SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov sent a message to Wang Yi congratulating him on his appointment as State Councilor and Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China.

"China plays an increasingly important role on the global stage, and its international prestige is constantly growing," the message reads.

Rashid Alimov praised the significant contribution China is making to the healthy and stable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and expressed confidence that the SCO summit, which will take place in June 2018 in Qingdao, will turn a new page in the SCO history and will bring the organisation to a new level of long-term neighbourliness, friendship and cooperation.
