SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov sent a message of greetings to President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping congratulating him on his re-election.
"Under your wise guidance, the Chinese people are consistently and with great enthusiasm making their way to the Chinese dream. China has achieved great success in all areas of socio-economic development. The living standards and the international reputation of the country with a population of over one billion are constantly improving. The Belt and Road initiative, which you suggested, and the concept of a community of people with a common destiny are highly valued by the international community," the message reads.
Rashid Alimov also praised the significant contribution China made to the healthy and stable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and noted its important role in ensuring security and sustainable development on the Eurasian space.
The SCO Secretary-General expressed confidence that the SCO summit, which will take place in June 2018 in Qingdao, will give a new impetus to the further development of the SCO.
Mr Alimov also sent a message of greetings to Premier of the Chinese State Council Li Keqiang congratulating him on him reappointment.
