The SCO Observer Mission continues its work in Russia. On the eve of the presidential election, the observers met with Olga Blago, chairperson of the Novosibirsk Region's Election Commission, and with First Deputy Governor of the Novosibirsk Region Yuri Petukhov. During the meetings, they were briefed on the preparations for the upcoming presidential elections.
On 17 March, the SCO observers assessed the preparedness of ten district election commissions in Leninsky and Central districts of Novosibirsk.
On 13 March 2018, the SCO Observer Mission started working in six Russian federal districts.
In all, 2,130,894 eligible voters are registered in the Novosibirsk Region. There are 2,010 polling stations in the region, including 598 in Novosibirsk, the region's administrative centre.
