On 14 March 2018 Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Rashid Alimov and Deputy Foreign Minister Igor Morgulov met at the Russian Foreign Ministry's mansion.
During the conversation the officials discussed in detail the urgent issues on the SCO's agenda, including preparations for the SCO Council of Heads of State meeting in Qingdao in June, as well as the development of multilateral cooperation within the SCO and its international ties.
"The upcoming SCO summit in Qingdao will be held in the ‘big Eurasian eight' format for the first time. It is expected to provide additional impetus to the development of the organisation and, with new momentum, reveal the great potential of the SCO's neighbourly relations and cooperation between the member states and their various peoples," Mr Alimov emphasised.
The officials also discussed a number of pressing issues of global politics and international relations. The conversation took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere.
