On 12 September, as part of the Open Doors Day programme, the SCO headquarters in Beijing welcomed more than 30 students of the China-EU School of Law at China University of Political Science and Law, one of the country's best universities providing legal training.
The students met with the SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov, who thanked the future lawyers for showing interest in the SCO and spoke at length about how the SCO was created as well as its key goals and tasks. "The SCO provides the whole world with an example of friendship and cooperation between peoples with different cultural and civilisational traditions on the basis of equality and the ability to listen, hear and heed each other," Mr Alimov said.
An interesting discussion followed, during which the SCO Secretary-General answered a number of questions.
A tour of the SCO Secretariat's compound was organised for the students.
The guests left with warm impressions of their visit to the SCO Secretariat.
Open Doors Day is held at the SCO Secretariat on a regular basis within the SCO — Our Common Home project.
