On 21 August 2017, on the 72nd anniversary of the liberation of Chinese cities from the Japanese militarists, a ceremony took place in the Zhangbei County of the Hebei province, China, to lay wreaths at the memorial devoted to Soviet and Mongolian soldiers.
The ceremony was attended by Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to China: Mongolian Ambassador Ganhuyag Dambin, Azerbaijani Ambassador A.Zeynalli, Turkmen Ambassador Chinar Rustamova, as well as Counsellors at the Embassies: Minister Counsellor Dmitry Lukyantsev of the Russian Federation, Counsellor H.Kazaryan of the Republic of Armenia, Counsellor Sergey Vergeychik of the Republic of Belarus, Military Attaché, Colonel Erkin Mamithanov of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Lu Bin, Deputy Director of the Department of European-Central Asian Affairs of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, Deputy Head of the prefecture-level city of Zhangjiakou Li Hong and Zhangbei County Deputy Head Tian Liuliu.
The delegation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Secretariat was led by SCO Deputy Secretary-General Aziz Nosirov.
