On 10 August 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the People's Republic of China BakhtiyorSaidov at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The SCO Secretary-General congratulated Mr Saidov on his appointment and presentation of his letter of credence, and wished him every success in his responsibilities and mission.
During the meeting, Mr Alimov and Mr Saidov exchanged views on the state of and prospects for cooperation within the SCO, paying special attention to the implementation of agreements that were reached at the Summit of SCO Member-States on 8-9 June 2017 in Astana.
Uzbekistan's Ambassador to China assured the SCO Secretary-General of his commitment to maintaining close ties between his diplomatic mission and the SCO Secretariat.
The meeting was held in a friendly and welcoming environment.
