On 4 July 2017, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Daniyar Kurbanov visited the SCO Secretariat in Beijing on the occasion of the conclusion of his mission in China. He also met with SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov.
The SCO Secretary-General expressed his gratitude to the Uzbekistani Ambassador for his productive efforts to strengthen fruitful cooperation between the Embassy of Uzbekistan and the SCO Secretariat. Rashid Alimov expressed his appreciation of Ambassador Kurbanov's personal contribution to the promotion of the SCO's noble goals and tasks.
"During your five-year term in China, the SCO Secretariat enjoyed the warm attention and support from the friendly Uzbekistani Embassy, which created excellent conditions for holding a number of important economic, cultural and humanitarian events at the Secretariat. I have a very positive view on your contribution to the preparation of the seminal SCO Summit in Tashkent in 2016. You have always acted in keeping with the Shanghai spirit, and I sincerely hope that you will continue to provide assistance to the progressive development of the Organisation," Rashid Alimov said.
Daniyar Kurbanov thanked the SCO Secretary-General for a warm welcome and expressed his belief that relations between the Uzbekistani Embassy and the SCO Secretariat would continue to grow stronger and deeper. He commended the Secretariat's efforts to achieve the goals and tasks set before it by the SCO member states and conveyed his deep personal gratitude to the SCO Secretary-General and the Secretariat's personnel for their cooperation.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
