On 28 February 2017, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan Daniyar Kurbanov at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing.
The parties discussed current issues of cooperation within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and exchanged opinions on the upcoming events ahead of the SCO Summit in Astana under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan.
Daniyar Kurbanov highly assessed the active and substantive work of the SCO Secretariat and the atmosphere at the SCO's main permanent executive body in Beijing.
The Ambassador updated the SCO Secretary-General on a series of important international events to be held in Uzbekistan in 2017 for a broad range of countries and organisations and expressed hope that officials from the SCO Secretariat would attend them.
The parties focused on preparations for the SCO Forum to be held in Tashkent on 11-12 May 2017.
The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
