The SCO Secretary-General's greetings to the Chinese people on the Lunar New Year
On the eve of the Chinese or Lunar New Year, SCO Secretary-General Rashid Alimov congratulated the friendly Chinese people on the Spring Festival on behalf of the SCO Secretariat, which is the main permanent executive body of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.
"Celebrating the Chinese New Year has become a shared tradition in the family of the SCO nations. Regardless of the country of origin, all of us are deeply impressed by the ancient tradition of celebrating the Spring Festival," Rashid Alimov writes in his message of greetings.
He expressed confidence that the hard-working, wise and optimistic people of China will realise the Chinese dream by strengthening China's positions and responsibility on the international stage. By doing this, they will make a big contribution to enhancing neighbourly relations, friendship and cooperation in the SCO region and the development, progress and prosperity of humankind as a whole.
